Overpayment scam

Buyer sends a check for more than the asking price and asks you to refund the difference. The check bounces — you lose the money.

Scammers post photos of real homes and ask for a deposit before you see the property. Never pay before viewing.

Buyer asks you to ship an item and promises to pay on arrival. Once shipped, they disappear.

Never click links in chat messages asking you to "verify your account" or "confirm payment." CruxListing never asks for this.
